Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 18

This chapter corrects the wrong thinking of the Jews that “The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge” (v.2), which means the fathers sin, and the children suffer the consequences. Through this thinking, the Jews were blaming their suffering on their parents’ wrongdoings, not on theirs!
This wrong thinking led Israel to think the way of the Lord was not fair (v.25). They were blaming God for their troubles and not taking responsibility for their sinful acts! But God refuted that thinking, declaring that the son shall not bear the guilt of the father, and a person’s righteousness or wickedness shall be upon himself and not someone else (v.20).
In the end, God commanded Israel to repent and turn from their transgressions so that they would not be ruined and die (v.30-31). His last words in this chapter were: “Therefore turn and live!” (v.32).

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 18

In this chapter I want to focus on the story of the 1 lost sheep. Even 1 sheep is so valuable to the shepherd that he will leave 99 of his sheep that are not lost and go and search for the 1 missing sheep! I believe this story was written for Japan, except that in Japan, actually 99 of the sheep are lost and only 1 is in the fold!
How much our Great Shepherd in heaven is yearning for His 99 sheep to be found and brought into the safety of the fold! Let’s give ourselves to Jesus wholeheartedly and seek as many sheep as possible to lead to salvation. I have set the goal of 1/2 of Japan’s population to get saved!
Let’s pray so that we can become Endtime Harvest Laborers and lead hundreds, or thousands of precious lost sheep back to Jesus!
