Devotion 1 of 2: 1 Kings 21
This chapter shows the effect of authoritarianism on the character, morals and lifestyle of political leaders. We see how the authoritarian King Ahab reacted in anger and discontent when he couldn’t get what he wanted—Naboth’s vineyard (v.1-6). So, his wife Jezebel got Naboth’s vineyard for him by using lies and deceit (v.7-16)!
Today also, corrupt authoritarian rulers use fake news to strike down their critics and do what they want! One well-known president has had many critics killed, using lies and deceit. Another absolute dictator has killed 340 officers in his 1st 5 years in office to consolidate his power!
The Myanmar military falsely claimed voter fraud and dethroned Aung San Suu Kyi’s government in 2021. The people protested, but the military killed tens of thousands to keep power! In the endtime, AC will also use lies to persecute the church and control the world! Let’s be aware of dictators’ tactics to combat AC effectively!

この章では、権威主義が政治指導者の人格、道徳、そして生き方に及ぼす影響について考察します。権威主義的なアハブ王が、望んでいたもの、すなわちナボテのぶどう畑を手に入れられなかったとき、怒りと不満を募らせた様子が描かれています（1-6節）。そこで、妻のイゼベルは嘘と欺瞞を使って、ナボテのぶどう畑を夫のために手に入れました（7-16節）。
今日でも、腐敗した権威主義的な支配者たちは、フェイクニュースを用いて批判者たちを打ち倒し、思い通りに行動します。ある有名な大統領は、嘘と欺瞞を用いて多くの批判者を殺害してきました。また別の絶対的な独裁者は、権力を強化するために、就任後5年間で340人の官僚を殺害しました。
ミャンマーの軍事政権は、2021年に不正選挙という噓を理由にアウンサンスーチー政権を倒しました。国民は抗議しましたが、軍は権力を維持するために数万人を殺害しました。終末の時代には、反キも嘘を使って教会を迫害したり、世界を支配したりするでしょう。反キに効果的に対抗するために独裁者の戦術に注意しましょう。
Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Kings 22
King Jehoshaphat (KJ) of Judah was naïve, like a child. By contrast, King Ahab (KA) of Israel was cunning and deceptive. KA asked KJ to help him fight against Syria to take back Ramoth Gilead, and KJ agreed (v.4).
But KJ wanted to inquire of the Lord before fighting (v.5). So, 400 prophets were gathered, and they all said to go and God would deliver victory to them (v.6)! But 1 prophet, Micaiah, was a true prophet and said Israel would be scattered on the mountains (v.17). Only his prophecy came to pass!
The cunning and deceptive KA told KJ to wear kingly robes to battle, but he disguised himself (v.30). He was willing to sacrifice KJ to save his own life! We should never trust a deceitful ruler! However, God caused KA to be killed by a random arrow, and protected the really naïve KJ from harm! Let’s be pure like KJ, but smarter!

ユダの王ヨシャパテ（ヨシャ）は子供のように純真でした。対照的に、イスラエルの王アハブは狡猾で欺瞞的でした。アハブはヨシャに、シリアとの戦いでラモテ・ギレアデを奪還する協力を要請し、ヨシャは同意しました（4節）。
しかし、ヨシャは戦う前に主に伺いを立てたいと考えました（5節）。そこで400人の預言者が集められ、皆、勝利するから行けと言いました（6節）。しかし、ミカヤという真の預言者は、敗北を宣言しました（17節）。彼の預言だけが成就したのです！現在も、400人の預言者が不正のリーダーに勝利と叫んでも、それは実現しないでしょう。真の預言者になりましょう！
狡猾で欺瞞的なアハブは、ヨシャに王の衣装を着て戦うように頼みましたが、アハブは変装しました（30節）。彼は自分の命を守るためにヨシャを犠牲にしようとしたのです！私たちは決して欺瞞的な支配者を信頼すべきではありません！しかし、神はアハブを矢で射殺させ、純真なヨシャを危害から守ってくれました！ヨシャのように純粋になりたいが、彼より賢くもなりたいです！
