Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 8
V.35-36 say, “For whoever finds me (wisdom) finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord; but he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all those who hate me love death.” Remember, wisdom includes understanding God’s enigmas, or parables about God’s plans (concerning the Messiah, the endtime, etc.), hidden in Scripture.
The Jews who didn’t find wisdom about the Messiah hidden in the OT, rejected Jesus and crucified Him, which led to their spiritual death as God’s covenant people. In the endtime, without wisdom, the same danger awaits us.
デボーション1/2：箴言8章
35-36節にはこうある。「なぜなら、わたし（知恵）を見いだす者は、いのちを見いだし、主から恵みをいただくからだ。わたしを見失う者は自分自身をそこない、わたしを憎む者はみな、死を愛する。」知恵とは、聖書に隠された神の謎、すなわち神の（メシア、終末などについての）計画に関するたとえ話を理解することを含むことを覚えておこう。
旧約に隠されたメシアに関する知恵を見いださなかったユダヤ人は、イエスを拒絶し、十字架につけた。その結果、彼らは神の契約の民として霊的に死に至ったのである。終末の時代には、知恵がなければ、私たちも同じ危険に直面するだろう。
Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 8
3 “…they (Macedonia churches) gave as much as they were able... No one told them to do this. It was their idea. 5 …They gave themselves to the Lord and to us before they gave their money. This is what God wants” (ERV Easy-to-Read Version).
The Macedonia churches left us a great model to imitate. While Shalom Church has not reached their level, we have joined other churches in giving 20M yen to the 2011 Tohoku disaster victims and over 20M yen to Myanmar churches and to the victims of the horrendous 2008 Nargis Cyclone that killed 138,000. Let’s continue to give!
デボーション2/2：2コリ8章
3、5節には、「3 彼ら（マケドニアの諸教会）は自ら進んで、力に応じ、いや力以上にささげ･･･5 そして、私たちの期待以上に、神のみこころに従って、まず自分自身を主にささげ･･･ました」とある。
マケドニアの諸教会は、私たちが見習うべき素晴らしい模範を残している。シャローム教会はまだ彼らのレベルには達していないが、他の教会と共に、2011年の東日本大震災の被災者のために2千万円、さらにミャンマーの諸教会と、13万8千人が亡くなった2008年のサイクロン・ナルギスの支援のためにも2千万円を献げることができた。今後も献げ続けよう。
