Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 34
While David was escaping from Saul, he visited the priest Abimelech and got some holy bread to feed his men. After that, he fled to the Philistine King Achish of Gath, but Achish’s servants saw David as an enemy, so, sensing he was in danger, David pretended madness and miraculously escaped harm (1 Sam 21)!
David wrote this psalm after that experience. He said in v.6, “This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” When we are in a fix, let’s cry out to God like David did! He will save us, too!

ダビデはサウルから逃れる途中、祭司アビメレクを訪ね、部下たちに与えるための聖なるパンをもらいました。その後、ペリシテ人のガテの王アキシュのもとへ逃げましたが、アキシュの家来たちはダビデを敵と見なしたため、危険を感じたダビデは狂気を装い、奇跡的に難を逃れました（1サムエル記21章）。
ダビデはこの経験の後、この詩篇を書きました。6節には、「この悩む者が呼ばわったとき、主は聞かれた。こうして、主はすべての苦しみから彼を救われた」とあります。私たちも窮地に陥った時は、ダビデのように神に叫び求めましょう。神は私たちをも救ってくださいます。

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Cor 2
This chapter reveals God’s wisdom, which hides treasures in mysteries so that the rulers of this age can’t understand and therefore cannot stop God’s plans from being fulfilled. One plan is, of course, bringing salvation to mankind through the crucifixion of Christ. If Satan or rulers had known this plan, they would have stopped it!
Endtime application: This applies to the endtime also. God’s plan of Restoration and Revival is hidden in mysteries, or parables, in the Bible, and God reveals them through His Spirit (v.10)! Let’s seek God’s mysteries!

この章は、神の知恵を明らかにしています。神は、この世の支配者たちが理解できないように、そして神の計画の成就を阻止できないように、奥義の中に宝を隠しておられます。その計画の一つは、もちろん、キリストの十字架刑を通して人類に救いをもたらすことです。もしサタンや世の支配者たちがこの計画を知っていたなら、彼らはそれを阻止したでしょう！
終末への適用： これは終末にも当てはまります。神の回復とリバイバルの計画は、聖書の中の奥義、すなわちたとえ話の中に隠されており、神は御霊を通してそれらを明らかにされます（10節）。さあ、神の奥義を探求しましょう！
