Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 31

This psalm shows the 2 sides of David that every believer also has. One side is his trust in the Lord and having God as his rock and fortress (v.1-2). We have the same through our repentance of sin and accepting Jesus as the Rock of our Salvation!
The other side of David is being in trouble, in grief and sighing and losing strength because of his iniquity (v.9-10). This is a picture of us if we let sin dominate and drag us down. But what did David do? He turned from wickedness, called upon the Lord and was delivered from his enemies (v.14-15)! Let’s do the same!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 15

Let’s look at 2 parts of this chapter. Part 1: v.1-6. Teaching on bearing with and pleasing one another for unity. Part 2: v.7-13. Pointing to Christ as the example of receiving one another, namely, Jews and Gentiles and using OT Scriptures to prove it was God’s will and plan (Ps 18:49; Deut 32:43; Ps 117:1; Isa 11:10).
The Judaist believers in the early church couldn’t accept Gentile believers because they didn’t understand OT prophecies about God accepting Gentiles! Today, many believers don’t understand restoration prophecies in the OT, so they don’t understand the LDR. Let’s pray for them!
