Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 6
This psalm shows David’s emotional state as he is going through a trial. In v.1-2, he asks the Lord not to rebuke or chasten him for his weakness in the flesh. In v.3-7, he begs the Lord for mercy; he is afraid of death from his enemies, so he cries with many tears for God’s mercy.
Finally, in v.8-10, David has confidence that the Lord has heard his prayers and will turn away his enemies! This is a good picture of what our prayers can be like, asking the Lord to forgive our sins and asking for deliverance from Satan’s attacks. Praise God for answering!

この詩篇は、ダビデが試練に直面している時の心境を描いています。1～2節では、肉の弱さゆえに主からの責めや懲らしめを受けないよう祈っています。3～7節では、主の憐れみを懇願しています。敵に殺されることを恐れ、涙を流しながら神の憐れみを切に求めているのです。
そして8～10節では、主が自分の祈りを聞き届け、敵を追い払ってくださると確信しています。これは、私たちの祈りがどのようなものであるべきかを示す良い例です。主が私たちの罪を赦し、サタンの攻撃から救ってくださるよう祈りましょう。祈りに答えてくださる神に感謝します。

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 6
V.14-29 tell the story of how John the Baptist was beheaded. John was the Elijah who prepared the way for Jesus’ 1st coming. He was a type of the LDC, which will prepare the way for Jesus’ rapture coming. Both Elijahs will fulfill Mal 4:5-6’s prophecy of Elijah coming before the day of the Lord.
We want to be part of the Elijah LDC in the endtime. That church will lead a world-wide revival for 3.5 years (Rev 11:3-13). Then, they will be martyred by beheading, as John was (Rev 20:4). Let’s pray for courage to face beheading!

14～29節には、バプテスマのヨハネが斬首された物語が記されています。ヨハネは、イエスの初臨の道を備えたエリヤでした。彼は、イエスの携挙の到来の道を備える終末教会の型でした。二人のエリヤは、マラキ4:5～6にある、主の日の前にエリヤが来るという預言を成就します。
私たちは、終末のエリヤ教会の一員になりたいと願います。その教会は、3年半にわたって世界規模のリバイバルを主導します（黙11:3-13）。そして、ヨハネのように斬首によって殉教します（黙20:4）。斬首に立ち向かう勇気を祈り求めましょう！
