Devotion 1 of 2: Job 29
In this chapter Job looks back with fondness at how everything made sense in his past life. He did righteous acts, and he was rewarded with blessings from God and respect from people. This is how life should be!
But now his life is full of contradictions, tragedies and curses, and he has no idea why! We sometimes run into a similar experience when we encounter hardships, but don’t know why it’s happening. Thank God for this book and for chapters 1 and 2! Help us, Lord, to understand this lesson from Job and never doubt You!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 25
V.14-30 tells the parable of the talents. We often feel like the 3rd servant with only 1 talent. We don’t feel we have much to contribute, so we don’t do much. But Jesus won’t be happy with that! So, what can we do?
I think the story in v.31-46 gives the answer. We can give some food to the hungry or water to the thirsty or clothes to the naked, etc.! In other words, show kindness—even a smile, a pat on the back, or a soft prayer—to someone in need! If we do this, Jesus promises us His kingdom (v.34)! Let’s use our 1 talent to inherit a kingdom!
