Devotion 1 of 2: Job 22
Job’s 3 friends argue 3 rounds with Job. The 1st is chapters 4-14, the 2nd is chapters 15-21, and the 3rd is chapters 22-27. So, this chapter begins the 3rd round. Usually, the 3 say God only punishes the wicked, so Job must’ve sinned and should repent. But Job adamantly refutes that and claims he has done nothing wrong.
In this chapter, Eliphaz continues this pattern. In v.1-11, he accuses Job of sins. Then in v.12-18, he claims Job is rejecting God’s judgment. Finally, in v.21-30, Eliphaz urges Job to pray to God, and God will hear him! Let’s try to learn how to be better counselors through reading Job.

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 18
V.19 shows us the power of unity. Jesus promised if 2 or 3 agree about anything they ask, it will be done! This lines up with Shalom Church’s 2026 theme!
Then, in v.21-35, Jesus teaches about the importance of forgiveness, which is so needed to achieve unity. The essence of this story is that, if we repent, God forgives our multitudes of sins, but sometimes we cannot forgive someone who commits a small sin against us! Jesus warns that if so, God will not forgive us, either! So, let’s forgive everyone who sins against us!
