Devotion 1 of 2: Zech 9
The prophecy in this chapter gives us a profound revelation! It declares that what mankind has been seeking for thousands of years—a world of peace, unity and harmony—can only come when Israel accepts Jesus as Messiah! It also shows that God will give Israel 2 chances to fulfill this prophecy!
The 1st chance was when Jesus came the 1st time. In Matt 21, Jesus fulfilled v.9 by riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. If the Jews had received Christ then, v.10 would have happened—stopping wars, speaking peace to the nations, Jesus’ reign over the earth!
But the Jews didn’t accept Jesus, so He must come a 2nd time. This time they will accept Him as Messiah (Zech 12-14)! So, He will defeat their enemies and finally establish the Millennium of peace on earth (Zech 9, Rev 19-20)!
Devotion 2 of 2: Rev 13
This chapter describes 2 beasts, AC (v.1-10, 18) and the false prophet (v.11-17), and their activities in the endtime. We have already learned many things about these 2 beasts, so let’s just look at 2 things here.
1) The 1st beast will be 1 head in a coalition of 7 heads and 10 horns (v.1), or 7 main nations and 10 supporting nations. Today, we see coalitions like NATO, EU, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, etc., that might evolve into AC’s coalition. Let’s keep our eyes on these coalitions for signs of AC’s emergence!
2) One head will be mortally wounded but will be healed! This will cause the world to marvel and follow him (v.3)! A few months ago, a national leader narrowly escaped assassination. If he had been killed and then resurrected, he would have been lifted up as a demi-god! Let’s watch for AC so we will not be deceived by him!
