Devotion 1 of 2: Hab 3
This is the last chapter of the short book of Habakkuk. I think it gives a more detailed answer to Habakkuk’s 2nd question of how can God use a wicked nation to punish His people? The answer was that after God uses the wicked nation to purify His people, He will judge that evil nation, and we must believe it and live by that faith.
Endtime application: The wicked nation will be AC and his coalition. They will persecute the church and make it hot or cold, not lukewarm. So, this persecution will cause the church to become a revival church, the LDC, which will cause a world-wide revival and win multitudes of souls to salvation.
Then in T2, the last half of the tribulation, God will send pestilence (v.5), scatter mountains (v.6), display His wrath through rivers and seas (v.8), disrupt the functions of sun and moon (v.11), and trample AC’s nations (v.12). Let’s believe this will happen and live by that faith!
Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Tim 3
Paul is our example for overcoming many temptations of the flesh in the last days (v.1-8). He is also our model for overcoming persecutions, which all who desire to live godly will receive (v.12). Paul was even stoned and died at Lystra (Acts 14:8-20), but was raised from the dead! After that, he went right back to evangelizing!
The power to overcome temptations and persecutions came to Paul through the Scriptures! V.16-17 contain these famous verses: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Let’s be like Paul and stand on the Word of God!
