Devotion 1 of 2: Eccl 1
Solomon, the author of Ecclesiastes, expressed his negative view of life in v.2, “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity!” One reason he had such a dark outlook on life is probably found in v.11, “There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of things that are to come by those who will come after.”
In other words, people don’t remember the LESSONS of the past, so, they haven’t learned anything, which means they will repeat the same mistakes! If one thinks this way, he is bound to get depressed!
When we read the Bible, let’s remember this important lesson! 1 Cor 10:11 says, “…all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” Let’s learn from Israel’s example, so we will fulfill God’s calling upon us, especially we who live in the end of time!
Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 1
V.4 says, “(God) who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” This verse will be a great encouragement for us in the endtime, when we face persecution from AC!
We can react to persecution by feeling anger and hate, or fear and anxiety, and end up being controlled by what AC is doing to us! But this will make us slaves to AC, and he will control us! Rather, we should react by reaching out to God for comfort, strength, and grace to overcome! When we do, He will fill us with His peace!
And this is the comfort and peace that we can share with fellow believers who are going through persecution!
