Devotion 1 of 2: Esth 1

This book shows how the LDC will defeat AC! Here are the 6 main characters and what they symbolize: 1) King Ahasuerus = Jesus, 2) Vashti = Disobedient church, 3) Hegai = Holy Spirit, 4) Mordecai = Pastor or Leader, 5) Esther = LDC, and 6) Haman = AC.
In this chapter, Vashti is rejected as Queen because she refuses to obey King Ahasuerus’ command to attend his feast (v.10-12, 19).
Endtime application: Jesus is restoring the church by inviting it to enter the spiritual fulfillment of the feasts of Israel! The 3 main feasts are Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles. Their spiritual fulfillments happened in 1517, 1906 and in the near future, 20??.
But the Catholic Church rejected the Reformation in 1517, and the Mainline and Evangelical Churches rejected the Pentecostal Revival in 1906. So, they became Vashti, and, unless they change, in danger of being disobedient and rejected as the bride of Christ! Let’s love and pray for them!

Devotion 2 of 2: Esth 2

In this chapter Esther replaces Vashti as Ahasuerus’ bride and queen (v.17). The reason she was chosen, beside her beauty, was because she pleased and was obedient to Hegai (v.9, 15), the king’s eunuch, who was in charge of preparing the virgins to go to the king (v.2-3).
The reason that Esther obeyed Hegai was because she had always obeyed Mordecai (v.10, 20). He had brought Esther up as his own daughter when her parents died (v.7).
Endtime application: Pastors should be like spiritual parents who love and nurture their flock. There should be a trusting and obedient relationship between the church and the pastor (+ leaders). That relationship will help the church to have an obedient relationship toward the Holy Spirit! The LDC’s relationship with the HS is of utmost importance. Without it, we can’t become the LDC!
