Devotion 1 of 2: Prov 16
V.31 says, “The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness.” My wife’s hair has turned white. Before, she dyed it to keep it black or brown. But after contracting dementia, she couldn’t keep up dyeing her hair, so I let it turn white. Now it looks like a silver crown of glory and makes her look like a queen.

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 16
In v.1-13 is a puzzling story of a steward who did some bad things, but who was commended by his master. I believe we must divide the steward’s actions, which were bad, from his motives, which Jesus praised.
The steward’s actions were bad because he cheated his master by lowering the amount of debt that people owed (v.5-7). But his motive was to use money to make friends who would welcome him after he lost his job! Jesus doesn’t want us to cheat, but He does want us to use money to make friends so we can share Jesus and lead them to eternal life! Let’s aim to be that kind of stewards of money!
