Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 31
In this chapter, we see Hezekiah cutting down all the idols in Judah (v.1), reforming the sacrificial offerings (v.2-3) and reforming the giving of the people (v.4). The people responded by giving an abundance of offerings (v.5-10), which was more than enough and was distributed to all the Levites (v.11-19). Hezekiah did what was right before the Lord, and he prospered as a result (v.20-21)! Let us be like Hezekiah and serve God faithfully!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 32
This chapter describes the greatest upset victory in the history of war! King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded Judah (v.1) and used the tactic of speaking many negative threats against them (v.9-19). Hezekiah responded by encouraging the people (v.6-8) and, along with the prophet Isaiah, called for prayer (v.20). God responded by sending a single angel and killed the whole Assyrian army of 185K (v.21)! After that crushing defeat, Sennacherib returned home and was killed by his own sons (v.21)!
Endtime application: When AC forms a world alliance and persecutes the church, it will look like an impossible-to-win situation! But let’s remember this story and believe God can use even a single Bible verse, such as John 14:12 “If you believe, you will do even greater works than I!” to defeat AC and bring forth a great victory and revival!

この章は、戦争史上最大の番狂わせの勝利を描いています。アッシリアの王セナケリブはユダに侵攻し（1節）、ユダに対して数々の脅しの言葉を投げかけるという戦術を用いました（9-19節）。ヒゼキヤは民を励まし（6-8節）、預言者イザヤと共に祈りを呼びかけました（20節）。神はひとりの天使を遣わし、18万5千人のアッシリア軍を全滅させました（21節）。この惨敗の後、セナケリブは故郷に戻り、息子たちに殺されました（21節）。
終末への適用：アッシリアが世界同盟を結成し、教会を迫害するとき、勝利は不可能に見えるでしょう。しかし、この物語を覚えておき、神はヨハネ14章12節の「信じるなら、私よりも大きなわざを行うでしょう」のような聖書の一節でさえも用いてアッシリアを打ち破り、偉大な勝利とリバイバルをもたらすことができると信じましょう。
