Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Kings 23

Reading and implementing the Book of the Law brought forth great reforms in Judah. King Josiah took out many articles for pagan gods that had been placed in the temple and burned them (v.3-4). He also removed priests who burned incense to many gods (v.5) and cleansed Judah from various idols (v.6-14).
One shocking discovery is that the Passover had not been kept since the days of the judges (v.21-23)! It was no doubt lost during the chaotic age of the judges, and only through discovering the Book of the Law was the feast of Passover and its significance re-discovered!
Endtime application: God is unveiling the truth of the restoration of the church! This is through discovering the spiritual meaning of the feasts of Israel by studying the Word of God! Let’s learn the important truth of restoration!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Kings 24

This chapter describes the beginning of the fall of Jerusalem under its final 3 evil kings. Judah was under constant attack by many nations (v.2). No doubt, it must have been like hell on earth, similar to today’s Ukraine.
In the end, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon besieged Jerusalem and carried out all the treasures of the temple and the king’s palace (v.10, 13). He also took the people captive to Babylon, leaving only the poorest (v.14).
Endtime application: In Jeremiah we learned that Nebuchadnezzar was God’s servant in cleansing Judah of her sins of idolatry, child sacrifices, etc. In the same way, God will use AC to make the church either hot (LDC) or cold (worship AC’s image and apostacize), and not be lukewarm (uncommitted to either Jesus or AC). Let’s be hot for Jesus!
