Devotion 1 of 2: Ezek 35

This chapter contains a prophecy of judgment against Mt. Seir, also called Edom, or Esau, the twin brother of Jacob (Gen 36:8). One of Mt. Seir’s sins was an ancient hatred for Israel (v.5). This was because Esau was the firstborn of Isaac, but he lost the firstborn blessing to his younger twin brother Jacob (Gen 25:29-34).
The reason Esau lost his birthright was because he didn’t comprehend its value (he despised it) and, being hungry, he sold it to Jacob for a meal!
Endtime application: God has given the LDC a tremendous calling—to bring forth the greatest revival in history! This is like our birthright as the church of the firstborn (Heb 12:22-23)! But if we don’t believe and seek for the LDR, it will be like Esau despising his birthright, and we’ll be just a mediocre church! Let’s not imitate Esau!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Cor 7

In this chapter Paul points out some important truths about marriage and single living. In v.7, Paul actually promotes single living by saying, “For I wish that all men were even as I myself.” “…as I myself” meant being single because Paul was a bachelor!
One reason for Paul advocating single living was because of the “present distress” in v.26. This meant the persecution the early church was receiving! When Christians are being hunted and killed, it’s very difficult to keep up family life, so Paul promoted singleness!
Although it will be hard to put into practice, believers living in the endtime should understand what Paul is saying. We, too, will face persecution and maintaining a family then will be very difficult.
