Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 37
In this chapter Babylon besieges Jerusalem, then withdraws to face Pharoah’s army (v.5). Judah thought that Babylon would stop their attack and leave (v.9). False prophets probably said this proves their prophecies of God protecting Judah were true (27:14-15).
But God said through Jeremiah that Pharaoh would return to Egypt, and Babylon would come back and burn Jerusalem with fire (v.7-8). What the false prophets predicted didn’t happen, but what Jeremiah predicted did!
Endtime application: Today’s false prophets are Christian leaders who teach that God will protect the church from AC by rapturing it before AC appears. They are sincere, but their teachings can cause millions of believers to apostacize and worship AC’s image.
Sometimes they will point out a Scripture or an event that seems to back up their claim, but close examination will show that they don’t. In the end, Jesus will not rapture the church before AC appears, as 2 Thes 2:1-4 clearly states.

この章では、バビロンがエルサレムを包囲しますが、パロの軍隊と対峙するために撤退します(5節)。ユダは、バビロンが攻撃をやめて去っただろうと考えました(9節)。偽預言者たちは、これは神がユダを守るという彼らの預言が真実であることを証明していると言ったのでしょう(27:14-15)。
しかし、神はエレミヤを通して、パロがエジプトに帰り、バビロンが戻ってきてエルサレムを火で焼き払うと言われました(7-8節)。偽預言者たちの預言は外れましたが、エレミヤの預言は命中したのです!
終末への適用: 今日の偽預言者は、反キが現れる前に神が教会を携挙して反キから守ると教えるキリスト教指導者たちです。彼らは誠実ですが、その教えは何百万人もの信者を背教させ、反キの像を崇拝させる危険性があります。
彼らは時々、自分たちの主張を裏付けるように見える御言葉や出来事を指摘しますが、よく調べてみるとそうではないことがわかります。結局、2テサ2:1-4に明確に述べられているように、反キが現れる前にイエスが教会を携挙することはないのです。
Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 9
In Rom 9-11, we can see the teaching of both God’s sovereignty and man’s free choice. God’s sovereignty is emphasized in chapters 9 and 11, and man’s free choice in chapter 10. They are teachings that seem contradictory to the human mind, but in God’s mind, both are true and are needed in right balance.
We see God’s sovereignty working in choosing which son would be blessed. Isaac was chosen over Ishmael (v.7) and Jacob over Esau (v.10-13). We also see God’s sovereignty working in choosing Israel to be His people and then including believing Gentiles as His people also (v.24-26).
I believe God’s sovereignty applies to His planning for an endtime revival, too. He has decided it, so He will do it. And He has told us He will do it in His Word in Rev 7:9-14 and Acts 15:16-17 and Haggai 2:1-9. Let’s believe God’s sovereignty! And let’s believe He will do what He has promised to do!

ローマ9-11章には、神の主権と人間の自由選択の両方の教えが見られます。神の主権は9章と11章で強調され、人間の自由選択は10章で強調されています。これらは人間の心には矛盾しているように見える教えですが、神の心では、どちらも真実であり、適切なバランスで必要です。
神の主権は、どの息子が祝福されるかを選ぶ際に機能します。イサクはイシュマエルよりも選ばれ（7節）、ヤコブはエサウよりも選ばれました（10-13節）。また、神の主権は、イスラエルを神の民として選び、その後、信仰を持つ異邦人も神の民として含めることにも機能します（24-26節）。
私は、神の主権は、終末のリバイバルの計画にも当てはまると信じます。神がそれを決定したので、神はそれを実行します。そして、神は黙7:9-14、使徒15:16-17、ハガイ書2:1-9 で、それを成し遂げると語っておられます。神の主権を信じましょう。また、約束されたことを成し遂げてくださると信じましょう。
