Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 19
In this chapter God tells Jeremiah to break a flask before the people to illustrate how He will allow Jerusalem to be broken like a potter’s vessel (v.1-11). He repeats the sins of Judah many times in the book of Jeremiah, but once more, the sin of burning their children as burnt offerings to Baal is pointed out in v.5.
As punishment, the Lord declared He would cause Judah to fall by the sword (to Babylon) (v.7), and cause plagues to make Jerusalem desolate (v.8), and cause the people to eat the flesh of their children and friends (v.9)! These catastrophes occurred when Babylon besieged Jerusalem for over a year, cut off their food supply and starved the Jews to break them.
We must realize once more that having a family with children will be a huge burden during the persecution in the endtime. How should we react when AC threatens to execute our children if they do not worship his image? Let’s pray for our Christian friends who have children, that they will be able to successfully implant faith and a strong conviction of eternal life in heaven into their precious little ones.

Devotion 2 of 2: Acts 19
This chapter describes Paul’s ministry in Ephesus (v.1-20) and the riot at the temple of Diana, the goddess of the Ephesians (v.21-41). Paul taught the disciples at Ephesus about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and when he prayed for them, they spoke in tongues (v.1-7).
This is the 3rd case in Acts of believers being baptized in the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. The 1st two cases were Acts 2:1-4 and 10:44-48. The teaching that speaking in tongues is the sign of being baptized in the Holy Spirit is based on these Scriptures. 2 Cor 13:1 says, ““By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established,” so this is a teaching that’s established by God!
Let’s encourage all our Christian friends who are open, to seek and receive the wonderful experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It will surely revolutionize their faith and help them to understand God’s plan of restoration and endtime revival!
