Devotion 1 of 3: Ps 107

V.2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy…” This verse is used to encourage Christians to witness. We should not be silent about the redemption from our enemy, Satan, that we have received. We were harassed by Satan into sin and misery and were headed for an eternity in darkness and suffering apart from God, but Jesus rescued us from that horrible fate and gave us eternal life instead!
Salvation is the most fantastic blessing in the world. When we die, we will go to the most beautiful place in the universe, full of happiness and peace forever and ever! Let’s share this wonderful news with as many people as possible so they, too, can go to heaven!
Lord, use us to help thousands of people to escape from eternal darkness and go to heaven instead!

Devotion 2 of 3: Rev 5

I believe the scroll in v.1 represents the Bible with prophecies of what will happen in the endtime. But it is sealed with 7 seals which no one could open (v.3), which means no one can correctly unlock the meaning of the endtime prophecies.
The Lion of Judah, who prevails and can loose the 7 seals to open the scroll in v.5, is Jesus. Jesus will reveal the right meaning of Revelation in the endtime.
I believe the 4 living creatures (v.6) symbolize overcoming Christians because they are like Jesus, whom the 4 living creatures mirror. In 4:7, the 4 creatures are: Lion (Jesus is the Lion of Judah), Calf (JC is the sacrifice for mankind’s sins), Man (JC is the Son of Man), and Flying Eagle (JC is the Son of God).
The Elders (v.6) also represent overcoming Christians who may have been pastors, 5-fold ministers, and leaders in the church. There were 24 of them (v.8), which could symbolize 12 each from the OT and NT.
The Lamb is Jesus (v.6). He has 7 horns, eyes and Spirits of God, which symbolize the Holy Spirit, who is all-powerful and all-seeing.
The 4 living creatures and 24 elders each have a harp and golden bowl of incense. The overcomers are worshipers and prayer warriors. Because of their intercession, Jesus will reveal the meaning of the endtime prophecies.
Jesus will make these overcomers kings and priests to God and cause them to rule on earth during the Millennium (v.10).
Let’s ask Jesus to unlock the 7 seals of the Bible and Revelation to His people at this time!

Devotion 3 of 3: Matt 1

Joseph and Mary risked their lives to bring Jesus into the world. Mary became pregnant before they married (v.18), so she was in danger of being stoned. Thinking Mary might have had an affair, but not wanting her to be executed, Joseph thought of hiding her someplace (v.19).
But the angel told Joseph to marry Mary because she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit (v.20)! So, I believe Joseph married Mary right away in order to, as much as possible, avoid problems from her pregnancy (v.24). But they didn’t have intercourse until Jesus was born so that Mary would still be a virgin when she gave birth (v.25).
Let’s be thankful for the faith, courage and obedience of Joseph and Mary for faithfully accomplishing the extremely dangerous task they were assigned to do in order to bring forth the Savior of mankind into the world!
