Devotion 1 of 1: Isa 63
This chapter contains a prophecy of the Battle of Armageddon in v.1-6; a remembrance of Israel’s blessings, rebellion and restoration in v.7-14; and a plea for Judah’s restoration in v.15-19.
The reason we can connect v.1-6 to the Battle of Armageddon in Rev 14-19 is because the trampling of the winepress of God’s fury and vengeance is found in both Scriptures (Rev 14:14-20; 16:19; 19:15).
The trampling of the winepress played an important part in the Feast of Tabernacles, which was a celebration of the fall grape harvest. The grapes were gathered and placed in the winepress, where they were trampled under the feet of joyful, dancing Jews.
There will be 2 Feast of Tabernacles (FOT) to be fulfilled spiritually in the endtime, including 2 grape harvests and 2 trampling of the winepress. The 1st FOT will be fulfilled through the LDR. The grape harvest symbolizes a harvest of souls and the trampling of the winepress symbolizes the joyous worship of the LDC.
The 2nd FOT will be fulfilled through Jesus’ 2nd coming. The grape harvest symbolizes Jesus defeating AC’s army at the Battle of Armageddon and the trampling of the winepress symbolizes the wrath and vengeance of God against AC for torturing and killing God’s people.
Let’s seek God for revelation concerning the endtime and for the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles in the LDC and in Israel.
1 TIM 3: Free sharing!
In this chapter we see some of the necessary qualifications for bishops (v.1-7) and deacons (v.8-13) laid out. Among the qualifications is the family qualification: a bishop must rule his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?) (v.4-5).
Marriage is not easy. I used to criticize people who divorced until my own sister went through a divorce. I saw up close how much she and her husband tried their best to continue their marriage, but in the end, the hurts and pain and anger were so great that they realized it was better for their children for them to divorce than to remain together and fight and argue every day.
In the same way, raising children is also not easy. As parents, we try our best to bring our children up with love and care, but we make mistakes and hurt our children, and sometimes the hurt can be so deep that their whole life is affected. I know many children raised by great Christian parents who stumbled, or left church, or became emotionally unstable, or joined an LGBTQ community.
So let’s pray for Christian leaders and their families. Let’s not judge them but pray that God’s grace and mercy will help couples to forgive one another and grow in love and pray that God’s mercy will help bring healing to their children so relationships can heal and the family can remain strong. Lord, help us in our family life!
