Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 40

This 40th chapter of Isaiah is like the 40th book of the Bible, Matthew. They both symbolize the beginning of something new and different. This chapter prophesies that a voice will cry in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord, the Messiah (v.3)! This inspiring prophecy was fulfilled through John the Baptist, who prepared the way for the coming of Jesus (Matt 3:3).
John also fulfilled the Elijah prophecy of Malachi 4:5-6. But that prophecy will be fulfilled 2 times: John the Baptist and the LDC (the Elijah Church of the LD). Just as John prepared the way for Christ’s 1st coming, the LDC will prepare the way for Jesus’ Rapture Coming!
Let’s recognize our calling and fulfill it! Let’s be the voice in the wilderness, sharing the gospel to our generation, and prepare the way of the Lord for his rapture coming!

Devotion 2 of 2: Gal 3

In v.2b-3, Paul writes: “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?”
When I read this, I recalled how I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I didn’t receive because I was keeping the law and living as a good Christian! It was the opposite! I was weak—I couldn’t pray, couldn’t read the Bible, couldn’t do good! I knew I needed help and that’s why I cried out to God to pour out the Spirit upon me!
And in response to my cries, God graciously answered and baptized me in the Holy Spirit! Paul says we should walk the Christian life in the same way—not by our works but by believing in God’s grace to accept us with our weaknesses, forgive us and help us to grow more! Let’s thank God for his grace!
