Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 34
In Isaiah’s day, Assyria was threatening Judah. Judah prayed and God responded: “For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, and His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter” (v.2).
This describes what the Lord did to Assyria’s army in 2 Kings 19:35a. “And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians 185,000 (soldiers)…”
This also applies to what Jesus will do to AC’s army for invading Israel at the Battle of Armageddon, described by Rev 19:19-21, “And I saw the beast (AC), the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse (Jesus) and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet…These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse.”
Let’s intercede for Israel not to be overcome by AC but to find deliverance through Jesus, their Messiah!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 10
Some key verses about the battlefield of our mind are found in v.3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
Joyce Meyer, a famous Bible teacher, experienced a horrible life for 18 years. Her father continually raped and abused and controlled her. She was a psychological mess, hating herself, hating her father and men in general, and tried to commit suicide several times.
But she became a Christian, and slowly, through revelation from the Word, began to understand that the devil used all the abuse of her past to plant negative strongholds in her mind, which she had to cast down in order to be set free and become the person God called her to be.
She shares her testimony openly to help others who have been abused and has helped thousands of people to gain victory in the battlefield of their mind and be delivered from their past and become transformed into joyful, confident and loving people!
Let’s learn to overcome our negative past by filling our thinking with God’s wonderful Word that will heal and lift us up!
