Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 15
Isaiah prophesied 2 chapters, 15 and 16, of judgment upon Moab (v.1). Moabites were descendants of Lot, Abraham’s nephew, after he escaped from Sodom before it was destroyed in Gen 19.
But Balak, king of Moab, hired Balaam to curse Israel in Num 22-24, so they became enemies. However, one blessing from Moab was Ruth, who married Boaz, and produced King David as well as Jesus, the Savior of the world (Ruth 4:13-17).
God can create good out of bad, so when bad things happen, let’s try to look for the good and praise God for that!

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 15
In this chapter we see 3 stories of lost objects being found: a sheep, a silver coin and a son. Each one was very precious and when found, brought forth much joy. The lesson is, of course, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents (v.10).
I lost a key to the front door of my old condo and couldn’t return it when I moved recently. I calculated it would cost me about 20,000 yen because the owner would have to get a new lock for the front door for safety. So I prayed desperately that I could find the key as I searched among the boxes of things that I unpacked at the new condo. And by God’s mercy and grace, I found it! PTL! Joy flooded my soul as I tasted a little bit of the joy that explodes in heaven every time a soul is saved!
