Devotion 1 of 2: Josh 11
In this chapter we see Israel defeating all their enemies. One interesting verse is v.22: “None of the Anakim were left in the land of the children of Israel; they remained only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod.” The Anakim were giants, the most fearsome inhabitants of the land. Israel couldn’t exterminate them; and they remained entrenched in the Gaza area.
Today Gaza is the biggest problem for Israel. It is where Hamas is stationed and from where they launched the Oct 7th attack that killed 1,200 Jews last year. It seems that the descendants of the Anakim are still wreaking havoc in the land.
Let’s not leave bad attitudes of anger or bitterness in our hearts, but drive them out through repentance and asking Jesus to cleanse us through his blood!

Devotion 2 of 2: Josh 12
This chapter contains a list of 31 kings that Israel conquered in Canaan. They can represent sins in our lives that God wants us to conquer and exterminate.
Lord, help us to repent of all our bad attitudes and feelings so that you can wash us of pagan worldly influences and make us into beautiful Promised Land Christians who can be laborers in the endtime harvest!
