Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 21
One part of the firstborn right is receiving the double portion (v.17). V.15-17 show that if a man has 2 wives, and the true firstborn is from the unloved wife, the man must give the firstborn blessing to that son.
But in the case of Abraham, it seems that this wasn’t implemented as, although Ishmael, born through Hagar, was the firstborn, it was Isaac, born through Sarah, who received the firstborn blessing. The reason for that was because Ishmael was the product of the flesh while Isaac was the son of promise.
The LDC will become the Church of the Firstborn (Heb 12:22-23) because they believe the promise of God, not because of their fleshly efforts. Let’s believe God’s promises and not rely on our flesh!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 5
V. 15 says, “For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” This Scripture shows the amazing potential of even one life! Through the sin of one man Adam, all mankind became sinners! But through the righteousness of one man Jesus, all mankind can be saved and made righteous!
Let’s believe that God can use every one of us to save hundreds, and even thousands of people from eternity away from God and lead them into eternal life in heaven!
