Devotion 2 of 2: James 3

This chapter is about our tongue and the damage it can cause. V.8 says, “But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
I think God made man weak in many areas, including his inability to control his tongue, to make him aware that he is prone to sin and therefore needs a Savior to save him from his sins. In that sense, our inability to control our tongue is actually a blessing in disguise.
Let’s pray that our tongue weakness will keep us humble and always drive us to God to cry out for mercy and forgiveness.
