Devotion 1 of 2: Num 1
This chapter shows the number of adult men in each tribe of Israel. Their total was 603,550 men (v.46). With women and children, the number could be 2M or 3M. Counting people was often done in the Bible, showing that God considered it important as a historical record.
Let's also keep numerical records for the purpose of seeing how God is working in our midst. However, we should also be aware of the danger of pride in counting numbers. When David counted his men with an evil motive, God punished the sin, and 70,000 men died as a result (2 Sam 24)!

1) When the people of Malta saw a viper biting Paul, they thought he was a murderer getting justice for his crimes (v.4). But when he shook it off and suffered no harm, they changed their mind and now thought he was a god (v.6)! Then Paul healed many people, so they honored him in many ways (v.8-10).
2) The LDC will have power to heal, have authority to do miracles and also repel harm! This will cause many unbelievers to look at the church with respect and believe in the Jesus whom we preach! Let's believe for this!
