Devotion 1 of 2: Job 17
When we pass through much suffering, and don’t hear from God, and don’t receive encouragement from our friends, we feel like giving up. This is how Job felt and that’s why he said in v.1b, “The grave is ready for me.” This shows he wanted to die.
Suicide is a big problem in Japan. Let’s pray we can lift people out of depression and impart a desire to live to people who are vexed by suicidal thoughts! Lord, anoint us to drive out spirits of depression and impart hope to those caught in hopelessness! Amen!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 17
(2/2)
1) In Matt 16:28, Jesus said some people standing there would not die till they saw Jesus coming in his kingdom. Six days later, he took Peter, James and John to the Mt. of Transfiguration, where he was transfigured into a glorious image, and where he talked with Moses and Elijah (v.1-3). So it is clear that the Mt. of Transfiguration was a picture Jesus coming in his kingdom. So the expression “Jesus coming in his kingdom” can mean the 2nd coming, but here it is referring to the LDR, in which Jesus will reveal his glory and presence through the LDC and bring forth revival around the world.
2) They represent the 2 witnesses of Rev 11. This is confirmed by Rev 11:6. The two witnesses will have power to stop rain, which Elijah did, and power to cause plagues, which Moses did.
3) He meant Elijah would come before Jesus’ 2nd coming in order to restore all things refers to completing the restoration of the church into a glorious, powerful, united church that fulfills the Great Commission to preach the gospel to all nations (Matt 24:14) and brings about a world-wide revival to save an uncountable number of people, fulfilling Rev 7:9-14.
