Devotion 1 of 1: Job 5
Eliphaz is sincere in trying to show Job where he thinks Job’s error was, but the result was he was judging and condemning Job! His words in v.2-3 must have hurt Job deeply. My paraphrase of those verses: “Job, your children were killed and your home cursed because of your foolish sin!” We all must be careful of our words when we try to counsel or advise people, not to judge but to encourage!
MATT 5 answers:
1) We see the Beatitudes in v.3-12. Verses 10-12 will be exceedingly important in the LD as AC will turn the world against Christians so that we will be reviled and persecuted. At that time, let’s remember these words of Jesus and rejoice that our reward will be great in heaven!
2) In v.16 Jesus challenged us to let our lights shine before men, so they can see our good works and glorify God. Some of the good works we can show are John 14:12 works! They include healing, delivering, transforming, giving hope, and restoring humanity out of sin and sickness to righteousness and health! If we do John 14:12 works, many millions of Japanese will believe in Jesus!
