Devotion 1 of 2: Hag 1
Haggai prophesied around 520 BC (v.1 – the 2nd year of Darius). The Jews had returned from captivity around 538 BC and started to restore the temple that Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed, but the work had stalled (v.1-2), so God used Haggai to stir up the people to complete the work (v.3-4, 13-14)! God is speaking today through his prophets from the OT, just as he spoke through Haggai! He wants us to complete the restoration of his church! Let’s respond as the Jews did and build God’s glorious endtime church!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rev 3
I believe the Sardis Church (v.1-6) represents the Protestant Church from the Reformation until the 2nd Coming. Jesus told them in v.1 that they had a name that they were alive, but they were dead! I believe this speaks of how the Protestant Movement restored salvation and eternal life to the church, but through man-centered organizations and following traditions more than the Word, Protestant churches lost life and became dead in the spirit! Let’s pray for our elder brothers in the faith that God will visit and bless them again with renewal and freshness of life!
