Devotion 1 of 2: Heb 7

Melchizedek was such an amazing person! He had no parents, no genealogy, no birth or death, and was made like the Son of God (v.3)! So, I believe, he was Jesus, who appeared on earth before he came as the Lamb of God! The reason for this is because the priesthood under Aaron could not bring perfection, or complete victory over sin (v.11)! Praise God for the Melchizedek order, which brought a better covenant (v.22), better priesthood (v.26-28) and better hope (v.19)!

Devotion 2 of 2: Jonah 4

1) He was angry at Nineveh (not being destroyed but continuing) (v.1). This resulted in Jonah wanting to die rather than live (v.3).
2) He was grateful for the plant (v.6), but angry when it died (v.9). So Jonah wanted to die than to live (v.8)!
3) Jonah was angry when a bad thing (Nineveh) was not stopped but continued! And he got angry when a good thing (plant) died and stopped! Because he couldn’t control his anger, he wanted to die! Both things will happen in our life, too (Bad things continue and good things stop), so we must learn to control our anger by finding the positive and emphasizing that (120K people were saved!)!
