Devotion 1 of 2: Ezra 7
Ezra leads the 2nd group of Jews from Babylon to Jerusalem to restore their nation. I think he returned in confidence because King Artaxerxes of Persia, the greatest empire of that time, had given him a letter of full support for the restoration project (v.11-26). This is a picture of what God has done for us! He has given us a letter (the Bible!) fully supporting the restoration of the church! So let us go forward with confidence that God will complete his plan of restoration!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ezra 8
Not only had King Artaxerxes written a letter of support for Ezra, but he also gave much silver and gold to help with the restoration of the temple (v.25-30)! In the same way, our God is giving his people many gifts of healing, casting out demons, raising the dead, etc. so that we can see the church restored fully to a glorious, powerful church that can cause revival in every nation on the planet!
