Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 33
What an amazing story! Manasseh was probably the most evil of Judah’s kings! He built altars to idols in the temple (v.4-5, 7)! He sacrificed his sons to heathen gods (v.6)! He led Judah to do more evil than the Canaanite nations before them (v.9)! So God allowed Assyria to capture Manasseh with hooks and chains and take him to Babylon! That’s when Manasseh was broken, and he humbled himself and cried out to God! So God showed him mercy, caused him to be released and sent him back to Jerusalem (v.11-13)! This time he did much good (v.14-16)! What an encouragement for us to pray for leaders! They can change! Let’s pray for Kishida, Putin, Xi, Kim, Islamic leaders, our country’s leaders, etc., for miraculous encounters with God to transform them!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 34
1) Huldah the prophetess declared disaster upon Judah (v.24) because Hilkiah had discovered the Book of the Law in the temple, which hadn’t been read in years, and when they read it, they realized they had broken God’s Word, and therefore punishment would come upon them (v.14-21)!
2) 2 Thes 2:3 prophesies that a great falling away (Christians compromising their faith) will happen before the rapture. One possible cause is that the rapture will not happen before AC appears and persecutes the church. Because of pre-trib teaching, many Christians believe God will rapture the church before the tribulation and protect them from AC. But if that doesn’t happen, many will not be prepared to face persecution and will compromise their faith, worship AC’s image and take his mark in order to escape being killed.
