2) I think Matthias was the right choice because he had the qualifications (v.21-23) and could minister right away, while waiting for Paul would have taken several years.

Devotion 2 of 3: Ezek 26
The common cause of God’s judgments against Tyre and the nations in chapter 25 is that they mocked or attacked Israel (v.2). I think this shows that God will not tolerate anyone scorning or hurting Israel, even though when these nations did it, Israel was rebellious, immoral, idolatrous and even sacrificing their own children! This should be a lesson for us not to criticize Israel, even though she may do wicked things, but rather to pray for her to repent and be restored to God.

Devotion 3 of 3: Matt 26
1) I want to pour out my love, life, worship and prayers to Jesus as the woman poured out an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment to him (v.7). I want to do it even though some people might think it wasteful, and it should be given to other, more useful purposes!
2) A) Similarities: Both Judas (v.49) and the other disciples betrayed Jesus (v.56); both had remorse (Judas = 27:3-5) (Peter = v.75)
B) Difference: Judas’ remorse led to suicide (27:5,; Peter’s remorse led to weeping, repentance (v.75) and change (John 21:15-19; Acts 2:14, 41)
