Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Sam 23
1) According to 1 Sam 22:1-2, they were men in distress, in debt and discontented!
2) Adino (v.8), Eleazar (v.9) and Shammah (v.11).
3) Eleazar and Shammah both continued to fight even when other men of Israel retreated, and God brought about a great victory (v.9-12)! We, too, should not give up, even when others do, until God gives the victory!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Sam 24
1) As at many other times, probably worshiping pagan idols.
2) a) 7 years of famine (v.13). b) Flee for 3 years before enemy. c) 3 days of plague.
3) David chose c) because he wanted to fall into God’s hand rather than man’s because the Lord’s mercies are great (v.14).
4) I would have chosen 3) because it would end quickest.
