In v.5-7, Samuel prophesies that Saul will meet some prophets and prophesy with them and be changed into a different person! That’s wonderful! Many times denominations begin from a revival in which God is moving! So the beginning is wonderful, but the final result is persecution against the next revival (David)!

I thought about how Saul symbolizes Protestant denominations, and this is what I was shown. In v.2, Saul is described as handsome and very tall. Denominational organizations look very attractive: Nice buildings, some have schools, universities, seminaries, hospitals, church buildings, etc. But in the end, Saul did not lead Israel closer to God. Many times, denominations don’t lead their people to revival but just uses them to maintain their denomination.
