Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 109
In this psalm, David asks God to judge his accusers who rewarded him evil for good and hatred for love (v.5). Why did David have to go through this trial? One reason is to produce a prophecy that would help the early church to know what to do after Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus! The disciples met in Acts 1 and decided to choose someone to replace Judas (Acts 1:20) based on Ps 109:8, “…may another take his place of leadership.” Let’s pray what we experience today can have great positive impact in the future!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rev 7
The innumerable multitude of souls saved during the tribulation in v.9, 14 will go through a lot of hardship. V.16 says they won’t hunger or thirst anymore, nor be struck by the sun or heat. This indicates they won’t have food and may be driven from their homes to be exposed to the heat of the sun! And v.17b says that God will wipe away their tears, which indicates they will go through much pain and suffering. Let’s pray for them, that they will be able to stand strong in their faith and overcome antichrist’s persecution!
