Devotion 1 of 2: John 1

In v.21, the priests and Levites asked John the Baptist if he was Elijah, and he answered he wasn’t. In one sense, he was right, but in another sense, he was wrong. He was right because physically, he was not Elijah. He was a different person. He was born from different parents and lived in a different era. But he was also wrong, because he was the fulfillment of the Elijah prophecy in Malachi 4:5-6. Jesus also said he was Elijah in Matt 17:12-13. So in spirit, anointing and power, John the Baptist was Elijah. This will be true for the LDC also! Physically, we will not be Elijah, but in spirit, anointing and power, we will be!

Devotion 2 of 2: Judg 15

I think one of the great mysteries in the Bible is how Samson caught 300 foxes, tied their tails together in pairs, and released them to burn up the Philistines’ fields (v.4-5)! How did he do that? I think it’s perhaps an even greater miracle than his miracles of supernatural strength. We probably won’t know the answer to this mystery until we get to heaven!
