Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 50
Verse 4 says that Jesus was given a well-instructed tongue that sustains the weary. This can be seen by how the people were amazed at Jesus’ words as he spoke with authority (Matt 7:28-29). But how did Jesus learn to speak like that? Verses 4 and 5 give us a hint. The Father woke Jesus up every morning and instructed him, and Jesus opened his ears and obeyed.

I think Paul gained this amazing understanding by experiencing an NDE when he was stoned and left for dead in Acts 14:19-20. According to 2 Cor 12:2-7, which explains what happened to Paul during his NDE, he went to heaven and conversed with God, seeing and hearing amazing things which he could not talk about immediately.
