Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 14

I will show how Lucifer’s 5 “I wills” (v.13-14) all apply to man, more than they apply to God! ① I will ascend to the heavens. = When man is saved, he will ascend to heaven.
② I will raise my throne above the stars of God. = Stars are angels (Rev 12:4, 9). Lucifer, an angel, wanted to be higher than angels, but only man was created to be higher than angels. 1 Cor 6:3 says we will judge angels, showing man will be higher than angels.

③ I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. = Mt. Zaphon is Mt. Zion (Ps 48:2) and Mt. Zion is the heavenly Jerusalem [bride of Christ] and the church of the firstborn (Heb 12:22-23)!
④ I will ascend above the tops of the clouds. = To the highest part of heaven, where man, as the bride of Christ, will be seated with Christ on his throne (Eph 2:6)!

⑤ I will make myself like the Most High. = Among all creation, only man was given the privilege of being created in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:26)! What an honor! And the reason is because God wanted to mold, train, and raise man up to become the bride for Jesus! This is the highest calling possible for any created being in the universe! And God gave it to man!

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 14

During the tribulation, antichrist will rise up, control the world, force everyone to take his mark in order to buy and sell, and make all people worship his image or be killed. So, many people in the world will obey, including perhaps our family and friends! They will try to convince us to follow along so we will not be killed, but, although we love our family and friends, in comparison to Jesus, we must hate, or deny them, to remain faithful to Christ, even if we are martyred for our faith!
