Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 21
When I was in elementary school, I stopped a boy from teasing a girl, and he got angry and began to bully me! God helped me overcome his bullying through youth baseball! In a game against his team, I was on 1st base, trying to steal 2nd base, but the pitcher threw the ball to 1st base and caught me off the base. I was caught in a rundown going back and forth between 1st and 2nd and it looked like I was going to be tagged out!
But when the 2nd baseman threw the ball to 1st, I ran to 2nd base, then, without stopping, I continued to run to 3rd base! The boy who had bullied me was playing 3rd base for the other team, but he ran to 2nd base to back up the play and left 3rd base wide open! So I was able to steal both 2nd and 3rd bases in one play! Everyone scolded him for leaving his base open, so he learned a lesson that day and didn’t bully me again! Later, I learned that the 1st baseman dropped the ball, so that’s why he couldn’t throw the ball to 2nd to get me out. But I don’t know why I kept on running to 3rd base, except that it was God guiding me so that the 3rd baseman would learn a lesson and stop bullying me!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 22
One prophecy of Jesus’ crucifixion in this psalm is v.1, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” which Jesus cried out on the cross (Matt. 27:46). Another prophecy is v.16b, “…they pierce my hands and my feet.” This was fulfilled by the Roman soldiers nailing Jesus to the cross as evidenced by Thomas seeing the wounds and believing in Christ’s resurrection (Matt. 27:35; John 20:25-28).
