Devotion 1 of 2: Acts 5
The authority to judge was revealed in the early church by Peter speaking judgment to Ananias (v.1-5) and, later on, to his wife, Sapphira (v.7-10) for lying to God (v.4). They both died, sending chills (fear) throughout the church and the community (v.11).

Devotion 2 of 2: Lev 5
The 5th offering was called the guilt (trespass) offering, and it was to receive forgiveness (v.18) for unintentional sins regarding the holy things (v.15) or for breaking God’s commands without realizing it (v.17). Jesus fulfilled this offering, which had to be without defect (v.15), by living a sinless life.
