Devotion 1 of 1: Isa 62

This chapter is a prophecy of Israel’s salvation at the end of time, as seen in v.11-12: ‘Indeed the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the world: “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Surely your salvation is coming; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.’ ” And they shall call them The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.’
Israel’s salvation will be the 3rd major step in her restoration to God. Here is a short summary of Israel’s separation from and restoration to God:
*30AD. Reject Jesus as Messiah; cut off from God and the olive tree of God’s blessing (Rom 11:20).
*70AD. Rebell against Rome; defeated and sold as slaves throughout the Roman Empire.
*Late 1800’s. Jews’ “diaspora” or dispersion lasts 1800 years; begin trickling back to homeland.
*1933-1945. Nazi holocaust; 6M Jews killed; their “Aliyah,” or ascent (to homeland), escalates to over 300,000!
*1948. Nation of Israel reborn after 1878 years! 1st major step of Israel’s restoration.
*1967. Regain complete control over Jerusalem, their capitol! 2nd major step of restoration.
*20??. All remaining Jews will get saved. 3rd major step of restoration.
Let’s pray for IS 62 to come to pass and for Israel to return to God!

Perhaps the most difficult barrier that prevents people from accepting the gospel is the Bible teaching that Jesus is the only way to God and salvation, as v.5 says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus…“
This is why deviant doctrines, such as “Second Chance,” and “All roads lead to the same God,” “All religions are the same,” etc. have flourished. But if we believe the Bible is the Word of God, then we believe these 4 foundational truths:
1) God created man, showed his love through many blessings and planned for man to live with him for eternity.
2) But Satan deceived man to disobey God, causing man to separate from God and lose God’s blessings.
3) To save man, God sent his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to pay the penalty for all of man’s sins.
4) If we repent of sin and accept God’s gift of salvation, we can be forgiven and live eternally with God.
Let’s be convicted by this most fundamental and important truth of the Bible and share it with AMPAP (As Many People As Possible) to give them the opportunity to accept Jesus and get saved!
