Devotion 1 of 1: Isa 47
This chapter describes the plight of the Jews who were defeated and taken captive to Babylon (v.1). They can serve as a picture of lukewarm Christians in the endtime who compromise their faith, worship AC’s image and become captives to AC’s deceit. What is one thing we can learn from these Jews?
Desolation came upon them suddenly (v.11b). Nebuchadnezzar’s attack came suddenly and unexpectedly, and they were taken captive. Christ’s coming to rapture the church away will also be sudden and unexpected, like a thief in the night, and the people in darkness will be caught off-guard (1 Thes 5:1-10)! But the sons of the light will be awake and not be sleeping! Let’s be sons of the day and ready for Christ’s rapture!
EPH 4: Free sharing!
After revealing the marvelous mystery of the Gentiles also being part of Christ’s church along with the Jews in chapter 3, Paul challenges the Ephesus Church to walk worthy of their great calling (v.1).
In v.11-15, Paul also teaches how that vision will be accomplished through the 5-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. The truth of the ministry of apostles and prophets for today has only recently been restored to the church in 1948.
When the 5-fold ministry is fully operating with anointing of the Holy Spirit, the church will “…come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect (fully mature) man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ!” (v.13). Wow! It will become what God intended the church to be! And that’s the endtime mystery of the church that God is revealing today!
Let’s learn about it and believe and seek for it to be fulfilled in the church of Japan!
