Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 35

This chapter is a marvelous prophecy of the Millennium because it describes the earth as a paradise. This is the kingdom Jesus will establish on earth after he takes vengeance on AC in v.4 to save Israel from being destroyed at Armageddon: ‘Say to those who are fearful-hearted (Israel), “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” ‘
But I believe this prophecy can also be applied to the LDR because it pictures the desert (spiritually dead church) blossoming as a rose (being restored as the glorious church) (v.1); people seeing the glory of the Lord (v.2); God saving the LDC from AC’s persecution (v.4); the blind, deaf, lame and dumb being healed (the LDC doing the works of Jesus – John 14:12) (v.5-6); waters burst forth in the wilderness (HS poured out all over the world) (v.6b); and the redeemed walking on the Highway of Holiness to Zion with great joy (uncountable number of souls saved and added to the LDC during the tribulation – Rev 7:9-14) (v.8-10)!
Let’s believe and pray for Israel to be saved and enter the Millennium and for the promised LDR to happen in every nation, including Japan!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 11

Paul warned of false apostles in this chapter (v.13). One quality of Paul as a true apostle was the sufferings he went through for the gospel (v.23-33). Jesus warned that in the endtime, not false apostles, but false Christs and false prophets would appear and deceive many (Matt 24:4-5, 24).
One area I believe we must be careful about concerning false prophets is the teaching of the pretrib rapture. Many Christians have been taught that Jesus will return and rapture the church before AC and the tribulation occur.
They believe that the tribulation is a 7-year period of wrath and God has not appointed his believers to wrath (1 Thes 5:9; Rom 5:9). They also believe that Lot’s family being taken out of Sodom before its destruction (Gen 19) and Noah’s family being saved from the flood (Gen 7) are 2 examples of that principle.
However, I believe that 2 Thes 2:1-4 clearly show that Jesus’ coming to gather his saints (rapture) will not happen before the great falling away and the appearing of AC! I believe many Christians will fall away because they were taught they wouldn’t see AC or the tribulation, so when they do, they will stumble! Therefore, I believe the pretrib rapture teaching is very dangerous.
And I also believe that the church will face persecution during the tribulation! We will suffer! But just as Paul suffered as a true apostle, the suffering we go through will show we are true followers of Jesus! And God’s purpose of allowing us to face AC is to make the church hot or cold, and not remain in its present lukewarm state, as Jesus said in Rev 3:15-16 (paraphrased): I wish you were hot or cold, but you are neither. Because you are lukewarm, I will vomit you out of my mouth!
So let’s study the endtime diligently as that time is quickly approaching! Let’s not be deceived by false teachers or false prophets but prepare to face AC and persecutions in the endtime, believing they are good for us, because they will make us hot for Jesus! PTL!
