Devotion 1 of 1: Isa 33
In v.1-9, we see a prayer of distress from Judah because of Assyria’s threats. Included in the prayer are 2 verses of praise to God (v.5-6). It is good to intersperse our cries for help to God with praises and thanksgiving!
In the end, in v.17-24, we see God answering the cries of his people by giving them plunder from their enemies (v.23) and the forgiveness of their sins (v.24)!
Let’s continue to pray for Israel to get saved when AC threatens to exterminate them! O God, save Israel!
2 COR 9: Free sharing!
Paul continues his inspirational teaching on giving, stressing the importance of being a cheerful giver (v.7)! This is true for whatever we do for the Lord, or even for other people! If we don’t do it with joy, or, in other words, from our heart, then there’s no blessing in it, either for the person we do it for, or for we, ourselves!
O Lord, help us to give our tithes and offerings to you with joy and a cheerful heart, not with a grumpy face!
