Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 10

Because Israel worshiped a golden calf while he was on Mt. Sinai, Moses broke the first tablets of the 10 Commandments that he had received from God. So God gave him another set of tablets which were put into the ark to keep them (v.1-2).
I believe this is a picture of man breaking the law that God gave to him, so God sent Jesus, who kept the law and cleared the way for the law to be removed from ruling over mankind. Let’s thank God for giving man a second chance of keeping God’s commandments through accepting Jesus Christ!

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 10

James and John asked Jesus to allow them to sit as his right and left, which symbolize position and authority (v.35-37). Jesus revealed that that position only comes through sacrifice and paying the price (v.38-40).
This is an important lesson for us as the LDC will be granted authority to sit with Jesus and rule. But we cannot attain that position through pride or ambition. It will only be given to those who dedicate all to Christ and who become the servant of all (v.43-45).
