Devotion 1 of 1: Ps 39
David teaches us a good way to stop our mouths from sinning and saying foolish things…just keep quiet (v.1-2)! This matches with James’ teaching in James 3:6 about how our tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity!
Let’s cut down our bad words by putting a lock on our lips!

In v.6-8 David declares that God didn’t really want animal sacrifices from his people, but rather he wanted them to hear his words and obey him!
In application to us, I believe God doesn’t want us to obey him by struggling to pray and read the Bible, but rather to obey by enjoying our fellowship with him!
