Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 37
This psalm contrasts evildoers and the righteous and shows that the wicked will be cut down but the just will stand and be blessed (v.9).
I believe this applies to a political leader today who was found guilty of crimes after many years of deception. His victims often fretted because he seemed to prosper despite his wrongs, but, as this psalm says, he was eventually brought to justice.
Let us not fret but trust in God to lift up the righteous and bring down the evildoer.

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 38
This psalm shows David suffering the consequences of his sins (v.4-5). What saved him was that he was in anguish and confessed his wrongs (v.18) and pleaded for God to not forsake him (v.21).
When we reap the bad results of our mistakes, let us, too, be quick to confess, repent and turn to God!
