Devotion 1 of 1: Ps 9
In v.9, we see that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed in time of trouble. This shows that the Cities of Refuge in Israel are a picture of the Lord, and this applies to what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross. Praise God that we have a City of Refuge in Jesus! Let’s run to him in time of trouble!

In contrast to Ps 9:9, 10:1 says, “Why do You hide in times of trouble?” So sometimes God doesn’t appear right away when trouble comes, but we can rest assured, his judgments will come. It is just that they are “far above, out of (man’s) sight” (v.5). That means they are far above our understanding and so we cannot see them, but they will come! Let’s believe that!
